Reader's Workshop
The goal of Reader's Workshop is to create lifelong readers! Students practice reading, think about books, and talk about books on a daily basis.
Mini-Lesson: We meet on the rug, and I briefly teach students strategies for decoding text and reading comprehension.
Independent Reading: This is the most important part of Reader's Workshop. Students independently read practicing the mini lesson strategy building on past mini-lessons. As students read, the teacher confers with students on individualized skills or strategies.
Share: Students come back together to share their thoughts, questions, and ideas about today's lesson. We read and talk about books on a daily basis!
